We’ve just discovered the new community cafe! Its a voluntary run cafe headed by uber community worker, resident and torch bearer, Yvonne Crowther. We stopped by for a cuppa and a hot dog.
The cafe used to be a hairdressing salon, but the equipment hasn’t been sold off, its been moved to another location in the area and will be reused for training facilities for young people wanting to gain skills in hairdressing. Yvonne also plans to open up the room adjoining the cafe and have a sewing room.
There’s a really nice vibe about the cafe and I hope it gets the success it deserves!
