Holbeck Christmas

Loads happened on Saturday 7th December in Holbeck. Some of the family was feeling a bit grotty so I just managed to get the oldest out, even in the drizzle and grey skies of day you can’t stop us having a good time.
It was the Holbeck Christmas Market where they got a great turn out.
Then a ten minute walk took us to Slunglow who were hosing their Christmas Event too.
We also had the first Holbeck Community Lights switch on, supported by our three ward councillors, David Congreve Adam Ogilvie and Angela Gabriel.
Slunglow invited you into their ‘underground ballroom’ (holbeck viaduct) – Thai food was served in the courtyard as was a delicious hog roast – (donation) Brass bands playing Christmas tunes, cosy sofas and table top sales. Then Alan Lane the company director gave us the Christmas Carol in instalments around the aga fire.
The Christmas Lights were turned on but only two trees worked. The recent bad weather had caused a branch to fall failing to make the next two trees light. This is getting fixed and should be all working this week.
